Become a Certified Advocate

For Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence

Volunteer-advocates are at the heart of East Los Angeles Women's Center! They provide crisis intervention, advocacy, education, and referrals to survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, human trafficking, and those impacted by homelessness. They answer crisis calls on ELAWC’s 24 hour Crisis Hotline and respond in person to hospitals, police stations, and the court to provide one-on-one support to survivors and significant others. No counseling experience required.

Your role as an advocate makes a a big difference in the lives of survivors!

After successfully completing the required Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Advocate Training, volunteer-advocates make a one-year commitment to the ELAWC volunteer program where they are expected to complete 24 hours of volunteering per month.
